The interior design of Sheraton Greenville Polo & Resort is guided by a carefully measured balance between sophistication and warmth. Rather than relying on excessive gestures, the project establishes its identity through spatial continuity, material consistency and a serene atmosphere. From the reception and dining areas to the guest rooms, each space belongs to the same narrative while responding to a different scale and way of being inhabited.

At the heart of the project is a soaring central volume containing the hotel’s principal shared spaces. The sequence begins with the lobby and reception area, continues through the bar and concludes in the restaurant. This progression makes the overall layout immediately legible, while gradual shifts in lighting, furnishings and scale give each area its own identity without interrupting the unified perception of the interior.

Materiality plays a central role in establishing this continuity. Mid- and dark-toned timbers, stone and marble surfaces, neutral textiles and leather accents create a warm, elegant and restrained atmosphere. Modular cladding, fluted planes, vertical screens and bespoke joinery introduce depth and rhythm without relying on abrupt contrasts. Natural light, filtered through full-height curtains, is complemented by focused and linear lighting that responds to the different uses.

In the lobby, the height of the central volume is emphasised by its metal structure, expansive timber surfaces and vertical slats with integrated lighting. Within this monumental scale, groupings of grey sofas, cognac leather armchairs and generous rugs define more intimate settings for gathering. The reception area forms a composition with a strong graphic presence: three black marble desks stand against a dark backdrop animated by a grid of circular timber pieces, some of which incorporate light.

The bar follows with a more intimate, evening-oriented atmosphere. A black marble counter, fluted front, timber stools and low-level lighting highlight the bottles and reflective surfaces. Within the same expansive setting, a long banquette upholstered in deep green defines the seating area and offers different ways of gathering, complemented by grey armchairs and timber tables. Overhead, a coffered ceiling lends rhythm, depth and a distinctly enveloping character to the entire space.

The restaurant completes the sequence within the central volume through varied configurations designed for different groups and moments of the day. Timber tables and upholstered armchairs create settings of different scales while maintaining clear circulation and a restrained atmosphere. A large shelving system integrates tableware, bottles and products within a continuous grid, turning the everyday elements of hospitality into part of the interior composition.

The guest rooms translate the project’s broader design language into a more domestic scale. Pale timber defines the headboards, bedside tables and a long storage unit, contrasting with grey textiles, black details and crisp white bedding. Black-and-white polo photographs reinforce the identity of the resort, while generous windows and balconies extend the rooms visually towards the fields and open landscape. Functional clarity and a restrained composition create a calm and comfortable setting for rest.
